INEC had on Sunday April 12th declared the election between APC candidate, incumbent governor Rochas Okorocha and PDP candidate, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Reps, inconclusive following Governorship election to hold on again on April 25th. the reason is because of some electoral irregularities. The rerun election will take place in 256 polling units.

I've been thinking on what President Jonathan said, if re-elected, he will tackle corruption in Nigeria using modern technology.But would that be when Nigerians are half? The President said this while speaking at his campaign rally in Ibadan today. He said that even if he jails 5 million people for corruption, the problem will still persist but that with modern technology, corruption would be prevented. He said his govt is currently working on introducing the technology "In terms of the number of people I have tried and jailed, maybe I would give you the statistics in my subsequent outings. We have tried more Nigerians. More Nigerians have been jailed within this period after passing through due process. And I used to tell people, even if I try 10 million Nigerians and Jail 5 million Nigerians for corruption, that does not solve the corruption problem.

At least, one person was feared killed and many others seriously injured when armed youths shot at vehicles conveying supporters of the All Progressives Congress from Asari-Toru and Khana Local Government Areas of Rivers State to the inaugural presidential campaign of Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.). The attacks were said to have occurred at the same time (5.30am) as the party faithful made their way to the Adokiye Amasiemaka Stadium in Omagwa, Ikwerre Local Government Area. It was learnt that nobody died in the attack by armed youths said to be thugs working for the Peoples Democratic Party along the Bori-Saakpenwa Road in Bori, Khana LGA.

Renowned Enugu-based Catholic priest Rev. Father Camillus Ejike Mbaka yesterday reversed his support for President Goodluck Jonathan over his inability to stop corruption and loss of innocent lives.
